Betrayed With A Kiss

Considered an enigma by many in the industry, Betrayed With A Kiss has created solid buzz the old-fashioned way: excellent song-writing, talent and lots of hard work. For proof one need look no further than their forth-coming self-titled album, scheduled for international release on February 16th, 2007. While their sound is deeply rooted in the metal genre, don't make the mistake of trying to label Betrayed With A Kiss as fitting into any specific mold.

Each song is stylistically unique from one to the next, and while common adjectives associated with Betrayed's music include words like heavy and driving, much of their material is commercially accessible and radio friendly. The demo version of the song "Crutch" has received steady rotation on local radio stations in their hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana since February of 2006.

That no member of Betrayed With A Kiss uses his or her own name (yes, both sexes are represented in the band), and instead prefers to go by the name of one of the seven deadly sins, is equal parts artistic license and a desire to place the listener's attention solely on the music.

Betrayed's vocalist, Pride, delivers a sound that is sometimes hard-hitting, sometimes melodic, but always with a stamp of emotion, conviction and sincerity that is surprising in this day and age of "production created faux emotion". The other members of Betrayed With A Kiss, Wrath, Envy, Lust and Greed, paint a soundscape, a trend-bucking, genre defying aural assault, as technical as it is accessible, that sets the stage for their ethos: the fearless pursuit of the creative collectives' artistic vision. Lyrically, the band takes the listener on a journey that is dark, emotional, and as real as it is uncompromising, making it impossible to dismiss Betrayed With A Kiss.
